Midland Exploration Inc. recently conducted a reconnaissance program on its Caniapisc Au project in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. The project, consisting of 94 claims covering 47 square kilometers, has shown promising results for gold potential.
During the three-day geological reconnaissance campaign, the team resampled three historical till samples and collected two additional follow-up till samples. The results revealed fifteen samples with anomalous gold values ranging from 0.10 to 0.75 g/t Au. The geological assessment also identified mineralized host rocks primarily consisting of pyrite associated with pervasive silica alteration.
Prospecting work near historical anomalous tills led to the discovery of boulder fields and outcrops. Out of the 55 grab samples collected, 47 were in close proximity to the historical gold anomalous tills. Fifteen of these samples showed anomalous gold values, while the remaining samples, located further north, also exhibited promising results.
The Caniapisc Au project is strategically located in the Raynouard Complex, known for its potential in volcanogenic and porphyry mineralization. Midland’s exploration program in the coming months aims to further assess the gold potential of the project.
Rock samples from the project were analyzed at Actlabs laboratories in Ancaster, Ontario, using industry best practices for quality control. The company is committed to conducting exploration programs that adhere to high standards to ensure accurate results.
