Western Exploration Inc. has reported additional high-grade assay results from the 2024 core drilling program at the Jarbidge rhyolite northeast of the Gravel Creek resource area. The company is pleased to announce the findings from this exploration at the Aura gold-silver project.
The 2024 drill program consisted of five oriented core holes totaling 3,556 meters. The results from holes WGC458, WGC459, and WGC460 have shown promising individual assays, with highlights including 0.3m @ 33.69 g/t AuEq, 1.04m @ 16.72 g/t AuEq, and 0.55m @ 75.12 g/t AuEq. These results indicate the potential for resource expansion northeast of the current Gravel Creek deposit.
CEO Darcy Marud expressed optimism about the findings, stating that the high-grade intercepts in the core holes suggest significant resource expansion potential. The mineralization in the area is open in all directions, and preliminary interpretations indicate widening vein zones up dip to the east. This suggests that the Gravel Creek system may contain valuable gold and silver resources in epithermal veins and breccia zones.
The results from the core holes confirm the presence of multiple vein-breccia zones with values exceeding 10.00 g/t AuEq within the projected structural corridor in the Jarbidge rhyolite. This provides a strong basis for expanding oriented core drilling in the area and beyond the current resource boundaries.
The Aura Project, where these exploration activities took place, has established mineral resource estimates in three different deposits: Doby George, Gravel Creek, and Wood Gulch. The project boasts well-established infrastructure and access to essential resources like water and electricity. Western Exploration aims to become a premier gold and silver development company in North America.
Overall, the recent assay results from the 2024 drilling program at Gravel Creek showcase the potential for significant resource expansion and highlight the valuable mineral resources present in the area. Western Exploration continues to lead the way in precious metals exploration and development, with a focus on maximizing the potential of the Aura Project.
